[For all that Zagreus had acted like he knew the Underworld, he's grateful to have Persephone around, because he doesn't know this Underworld in the same way. It's ruled over by a different Hades, similar but different, and the realm reflects that accordingly. Charon here was even less likely to listen to him than he was back home, too, so her help is invaluable.

When he spots the pink goddess, he waves back cheerily and heads over, smiling.]

Hi, Persephone! Hope I didn't keep you waiting long.

[As they walk, Zagreus is keeping a close eye on the Shades. Fortunately, none seem interested in fighting them, so he can relax a little.]

What do I think? I grew up in the Underworld, so I don't know that my opinion is a very interesting one. It's home, that's all. [He looks away from the Shades and at Persephone.] How about you?

Hades does tend to enjoy dishing out cruel and unusual punishments. It's not their fault they can't pay. I only ever have obols myself from ransa--

['Ransacking my father's realm' is what he almost says, before he coughs and quickly corrects himself.] Randomly finding them! You know, on the floor every once in a while.

I don't think you were wrong to try to help the Shades, though. What happened when you gave them the coins?

Nice? [He scoffs before he can stop himself, rolling his eyes. Force of habit.]

Well, I suppose he's nice to you. I just wish he took more pity on Shades like you do, instead of tormenting them unnecessarily.

Good luck. If anyone can talk him around, it's you. [It's a sore subject for him, so he's glad they arrive at their destination to cut the topic short. Being too bitter about Hades would just hurt her feelings, he thinks.

As for Charon, he strikes Zagreus as odd, being so different from the ferryman he's used to like so many things in this realm, but he smiles nonetheless.]

Hello, Charon! Or should I say-- nice to meet you? I'm Zagreus. [The Charon he's familiar with never says a word and this Charon might be the same, but he'll still be polite, regardless.]
